I was then very happy when the NBS Section in Bergen reactivated a series of monthly meetings centered around the theme I believed was “Science and Society", one of the areas we had been discussing as interesting for their activities. I have since then been impressed by their success with recruitment and maintaining the interest for these monthly seminars which I thought dealt with science communication and research-based solutions for important societal challenges. However, they premonitory had branded the series as “Science and Social", very Bergensk. This adaptation of the name opens for food, drinks and good mood after excellent lectures by researchers from the medical, marine, and the rest of the live science community in Bergen. So far the presented have been the use of a fish to fight salmon louse and the effect that toxic compounds have on lipid metabolism in cod. Thus, until now centered around fish, but the organizers are aiming to reel in researchers
