I hope you have all had a nice 2018 so far! The 54th contact meeting at Hafjell was a great way to start off the New Year.
I wish to congratulate the organizing committee from Oslo for putting together a fantastic program focusing on top science, learning and communication, and younger leading scientists. We took home a great deal of motivation, knowledge and information on the various new technologies presented by the exhibitors. It is now time to look forward and Trondheim is already preparing the next meeting in Røros. For NBS it is crucial to keep increasing the quality of the contact meetings, and to maintain the large number of important activities that the Society supports annually (dissemination through NB-Nytt, support of relevant symposiums and courses suggested by NBS members, and - most importantly - providing benefits and sponsorship opportunities for our youngest researchers).
