Senior researcher fellow within preparedness and emergency management - Norwegian Police University College, Bodø campus
The position is a part of a collaboration between the NPUC and Nord University. The position is linked up to the two international R&D projects MARPART (www.marpart.no) and MAREC where Nord university is the lead partner.
The senior researcher fellow will be a part of a research group of about 15 researchers in eight countries, including a research group of five researchers and PhD students at the Nord University High North Center. The research will also be linked to the Nord Preparedness management lab, where different managerial concepts as well as management training and computer-assisted exercise solutions are tested.

The position's role and main responsibilities

The senior researcher fellow will take part in comparative research on emergency preparedness organization and emergency management related to large scale emergency situations. A special focus is on the management of joint operations between different emergency agencies as well as private-public and civilian-military cooperation. Cooperation across borders is also in focus. Within the project, the testing of different management concepts in training and exercises using computer-assisted simulation will take place.

Crisis and emergency management issues

High reliability organisations -intra- and inter-organizational links

Organizational forms and managerial roles within emergency response agencies

Civilian and military organizational structures and cooperation platforms

International cooperation within emergency preparedness - organization of host nation support

Training and exercise concepts for coordinative roles within emergency management

Emergency management training schemes at different levels

Computer-assisted simulation tools within management training

Kvalifikasjoner

Professional qualifications, experience and education

Required qualifications:

A doctorate degree or an equivalent education within social sciences, preferably within organization and management theory.

Proficiency in oral and written English

Knowledge of Norwegian.
